His side had issued a warning letter to the residents to vacate the building. Therefore, when the demolition was carried out, the building was empty and unoccupied.

"It is targeted for completion in a week," he said.

He added that the demolition did not use heavy equipment because the water level of the Ciliwung River was high.

East Jakarta City Government Assistant Bambang Pangestu added that the enforcement operation involved approximately 100 joint personnel from urban village, district, and city levels, as well as personnel from the PPSU, Satpol PP, the Fire and Rescue Sub-agency, the Environmental Sub-agency, the Water Resources Sub-agency, and the Water Agency UPS.

"For now, the demolition is being run manually. However, heavy equipment will continue to be used to expedite the process," he stated.

He also appealed to other building owners to immediately vacate the buildings.

"All buildings that have been paid for by the Jakarta Provincial Government will be demolished for the Ciliwung River normalization project," he said.
