Bina Marga Agency Installs Warning Signs at High-Risk Locations

The Jakarta Public Works (Bina Marga) Agency has installed warning signs at high-risk locations as a preventive measure to improve road safety, particularly amid ongoing heavy rainfall.

"...all motorists to remain cautious, maintain a safe distance, and reduce speed during the rainy season,"

The safety messages are also displayed on videotrons located on pedestrian bridges managed by the agency.

2,248 Potholes in Central Jakarta Have Been Repaired

Siti Dinarwenny, Head of the Data and Information Center at the Jakarta Bina Marga Agency, said the warnings were prioritized on damage-prone road sections that could threaten motorists' safety.

"Through these warnings, the public is reminded to remain vigilant when passing through and to adjust their vehicle speed accordingly," she stated on Saturday (2/14).

In addition to issuing warnings, the agency continues to monitor road conditions across Jakarta.

"The yellow task force conducts routine road inspections and promptly responds to public complaints regarding potholes," she noted.

Wenny explained that immediate or emergency repairs to potholes are continuing despite the high rainfall, underscoring the agency's commitment to serving the public, particularly road users.

"The Jakarta Bina Marga Agency urges all motorists to remain cautious, maintain a safe distance, and reduce speed during the rainy season, given road conditions that are prone to potholes and slipperiness," she emphasized.
