Jakarta Regional Secretary's Assistant for Government Affairs, Sigit Wijatmoko said the road widening is mandated under the Jakarta Provincial Spatial Plan (RTRW).
Overhead Cables on Jalan RS Fatmawati Raya Soon to Be Moved Underground"The purpose of widening Jalan RS Fatmawati is to improve area planning and provide road access in line with the RTRW mandate, as part of the Fatmawati TOD area," he noted on Thursday (2/19).
Sigit explained that the widening will take place along sections of Jalan RS Fatmawati in Cilandak Barat Urban Village and Pondok Labu Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district.
According to him, the project aims to improve access to the TOD area, including providing adequate road width for Transjakarta services to operate without causing congestion.
"The arrangement will also include pedestrian space in line with the TOD development concept, which prioritizes integrated public mobility," he pointed.
Sigit said the development of the Fatmawati TOD area is expected to support activities in the surrounding area, which includes health facilities, educational institutions, and economic centers, thereby improving both passenger mobility and goods distribution.
"The widening also aims to increase road capacity as an inter-area connector in accordance with planning design requirements and criteria," he added.
He detailed that the total land required for the Jalan RS Fatmawati widening project amounts to 7,174 square meters, comprising 4,420 square meters in Cilandak Barat and 2,754 square meters in Pondok Labu.
"The land acquisition will go through stages of planning, preparation, implementation, and handover," he stated.
Sigit noted that the land acquisition process is regulated under Article 3 of Government Regulation No. 19/2021 on Land Acquisition for Public Interest Development.
"The estimated duration for the land acquisition process is approximately 502 working days, assuming there is no objection from residents at each stage," he said.
He emphasized that the implementation of land acquisition may adjust to on-site dynamics within the maximum time limit stipulated in the location determination.
Meanwhile, the physical construction of the road widening is expected to take around six months following the handover of land acquisition results by the Head of the Land Acquisition Implementation Committee.
"The construction phase is expected to take about six months once the acquired land is handed over," he stated.
