Central Jakarta Parks Agency Prunes 1,743 Hazardous Trees

The Central Jakarta Parks and City Forests Sub-agency has lopped off branches from 1,743 hazardous trees across eight districts between January and mid-February 2026.

This action is also driven by our own monitoring on the ground

Central Jakarta Parks and City Forests Sub-agency Head, Mila Ananda stated that the operation was a proactive move to nip potential dangers in the bud. The pruning followed a flurry of reports from residents via official complaint channels and letters, as well as routine field inspections.

"This action is also driven by our own monitoring on the ground," she added, Thursday (2/20).

Of these thousands of trees pruned, 1,040 underwent moderate pruning, while 390 were given a heavy trim, and 57 were axed completely.

"This preemptive strike is crucial to weather the storm, as we anticipate that high-intensity rainfall could easily uproot unstable trees," Mila explained.

She has also cleared the way by handling 48 instances of snapped limbs and fallen trees between January and mid-February 2026.

"These incidents were tackled head-on by our 'Green Squads'—personnel from both sub-agency and executing unit task forces across all eight districts in Central Jakarta," she concluded.
