Former Jakarta Satpol PP Head Harianto Badjoeri Breathes His Last

Jakarta, February 23 – Innalillahi wainnailaihi roji'un (To God we belong and to Him we shall return). The city of Jakarta is in mourning following the loss of Harianto Badjoeri, the former Head of Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) for the 2005–2010 period. Affectionately known as HB, he breathed his last on Sunday (2/22) at 11:18 PM while undergoing treatment at Pondok Indah Hospital.

He was a man who truly left a mark through his service

Harianto, who served during the administration of Governor Fauzi Bowo, was given a final send-off with full honors. Before being laid to rest at the Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery (TPU), an official civic ceremony was held at his residence in North Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. The ceremony was led directly by the current Satpol PP Head, Satriadi Gunawan.

Satriadi paid a heartfelt tribute to the late HB, describing him as a leader who went above and beyond in his dedication to the agency. Under his leadership, the Satpol PP was managed with a firm yet nurturing hand.

"He was a man who truly left a mark through his service. One of his most cherished legacies was his commitment to staff welfare. He had a heart of gold, personally ensuring that Muslim officers were sent for the Umrah pilgrimage, while their Christian counterparts were given the opportunity for a spiritual journey to Jerusalem," he noted, Monday (2/23).

He added that the passing of HB leaves a huge void within the Satpol PP ranks. He described Harianto Badjoeri not just as a leader, but as a father figure and a guiding light for the entire organization.

"Our hearts are heavy. Today, we escort him to his final resting place. We pray that he finds the highest place in the sight of Almighty God and that his family is granted the strength and fortitude to bear this profound loss," he stated.

Among those paying their last respects at the ceremony were former Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo (2007–2012) and former Jakarta City Council Chairman Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, along with various high-ranking officials and prominent public figures.
