Jakarta Government is in mourning after the death of Haji Matalih Bin Haji Rasyid, the father of City Secretary, Marullah Matali, who died at age 87 after receiving treatment at Pasar Minggu Regional Hospital.

His passing on a Friday, hope this is a sign of his goodness

Before being buried, the body was laid in repose at the funeral home, Jalan Haji Kamang, RT 08/10, Pondok Labu, Cilandak, South Jakarta.

Many officials and residents came to offer condolences at the mourning house, including South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin; Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin; and West Jakarta Mayor, Uus Kuswanto.

The deceased was prayed for at An-Ni'mah Jami' Mosque, Pondok Labu Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district. He was then taken to the Pondok Labu Cemetery, Bina Pusara Foundation.

According to Marullah, his father passed away just as the Friday call to prayer. May this be a sign of goodness.

"I've been waiting for him since last night. His passing on a Friday, hope this is a sign of his goodness," he hoped, Friday (3/21).

He admitted to being proud and grateful for having been educated and guided well during his father's lifetime. As a result, he has also had a good career.

"He is the one who taught and prayed for me. He is a rice trader and a martial arts teacher, and if I were to speak of his kindness, it is immeasurable towards family, relatives, and neighbors," he continued.

He wanted his father to be prayed for to receive the best place beside Allah.

"Please pray for him and that you can witness that he is a good person," he closed.
