Fire razed five tenements on Jalan Satria 10, RT 14/04, Jelambar Urban Village, Grogol Petamburan Sub-District, West Jakarta, Wednesday (4/30), around 11 AM. There are no casualties reported in the incident.

Fire quickly grew up because of the tight distance between the houses

Knowing there was fire, that came from Dudung (48)’s house, the locals immediately to put out the blaze suing available tools. But due to lack of water resources and strong wind, they failed.

“ Fire quickly grew up because of the tight distance between the houses ,” told Taslim (45), a local.

Luckily, 12 fire trucks arrived fast at the scene. The firemen had faced difficulties to extinguish the fire due to narrow access to the fire core. But after struggling for about an hour, they finally extinguished the fire.

“Temporary allegation, the cause of fire is electricity short-circuit,” stated Head of Operational Section for West Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Abdul Wahid.
