Tens of Thousands of Tourists Flock to Ancol

The Eid al-Fitr holiday has drawn tens of thousands of visitors from Jakarta and beyond to Ancol Taman Impian, North Jakarta yesterday.

We expect the visitor count to hit 50,000 by tonight

Corporate Communication Manager for PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk, Daniel Windriatmoko noted a rising trend in visitors since the start of the holiday. While the first day saw 35,000 visitors, that number was almost exceeded by midday on the second day.

"We expect the visitor count to hit 50,000 by tonight, with the potential for further increases in the following days," he remarked, Monday (3/23).

Ancol has readied diverse entertainment and facilities, with the highlight being a nightly fireworks show at Lagoon Beach, expected to be a major visitor magnet. A "buy four get one free" ticket promo is also available for all recreational areas, designed to appeal to families seeking an affordable holiday.

"The beach is still the top choice for visitors, followed by popular spots like Dunia Fantasi, Sea World Ancol, and Samudra Ancol," he noted.

To manage the crowds, Ancol has boosted its parking capacity to hold over 10,000 cars and 16,000 motorcycles. Parking areas now extend to the E-Prix circuit and the central and western regions of the resort.

"We are directing beach-bound visitors to the spacious E-Prix parking area. Other parking spots are also open from the central to the western zones," he explained.

He went on to day that the beach zone operates until midnight. Management is also guaranteeing peak security and support services, including assistance for lost items or separated family members.

"For the Eid holiday season (March 19 – April 5, 2026), we aim for 600,000 total visits—up six to 10 percent from last year," he detailed.

Cililitan resident Junardi (50) opted for a family holiday at Ancol instead of traveling to his hometown this year.

"Since we aren't going home, I’m taking the kids for a day out. While we sometimes visit Taman Mini or Ragunan, Ancol is our most frequent destination," he remarked.

For him, visiting Ancol is an annual Eid tradition, especially as it remains relatively affordable.

"My kids love playing in the sand and swimming, so it's a great experience for us," he added.
