Dozens of street vendors occupying Jl Ahmad Yani, precisely next to Ria Rio Reservoir, Kayu Putih, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, has caused traffic jam.

Based on Beritajakarta.com observations, Tuesday (6/7) afternoon, the street vendor starts opening their stalls on the sidewalk and the roadside. Most of them are selling snack, beverage until tire repair. The condition is worsened by AKAP bus which often stops and picks up passenger carelessly until causing traffic jam.

Ironically, there are no officers trying to control them.

Mulyono (35), a motorist complained street vendor along Jl Ahmad Yani is very disturbing. "Supposedly, the officer controls them. Many people had to pass the road, it is very dangerous," he protested, Tuesday (6/7).

When being contacted about this matter, Pulogadung Sub-district Head, Alawi Hadad said that controlling is supposed to be done by Kayu Putih Urban Village Head. "Just ask to Kayu Putih Urban Village Head. Why he is just silent,' he expressed.

Meanwhile, Kayu Putih Urban Village Head, Ade Ahdiyat stated street vendor has been controlled many times. But they return and set up the stall again. "If the bus does not stop carelessly, people will not wait there. Likewise with street vendor here," he stated.
