DPRD Chair Urges WFH Policy as Momentum to Strengthen Digital Services

Jakarta Council (DPRD) Chair Khoirudin has urged that the Work From Home (WFH) policy implemented every Friday within the Jakarta Provincial Government be used as momentum to strengthen digital public services.

Public services must not be reduced in any way

"We call on all officials to use this policy as an opportunity to accelerate the digital transformation of public services, so residents can continue to access services easily whenever needed," he said on Wednesday (4/8).

Friday WFH Policy Expected to Cut Fuel Subsidy Costs

Khoirudin explained that WFH policy is part of the government's efforts to improve work efficiency, maintain productivity balance, and reduce mobility that contributes to traffic congestion and environmental issues.

However, he stressed that public services must not be reduced in any way.

"The core principle of bureaucracy is to be present and serve, whether directly or through digital systems," he emphasized.

He also encouraged all regional agencies to maintain optimal public services through duty rotations, digital services, and responsive complaint channels, while ensuring minimum standards of speed, accuracy, and reliability.

"Internal supervision needs to be strengthened to prevent any decline in service quality due to more flexible work arrangements," he added.

Khoirudin noted that the WFH policy for civil servants should be evaluated regularly on a weekly basis to ensure it delivers benefits without compromising the public's right to quality services.

According to him, all policies should ultimately lead to greater public satisfaction and easier access to services.

"City Council will continue to oversee this to ensure those goals are properly maintained," he said.
