West Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Fajar Laksono, explained that the operation—targeting illegal parking attendants, the homeless, street performers, scavengers, beggars, and street vendors—is a direct implementation of Bylaw No. 8 of 2007 on Public Order.

Of the 485 individuals reached, illegal parking attendants made up the largest group with 134 people. This was followed by 108 homeless individuals, 91 people with mental health issues (psychotic), 24 beggars, 10 street performers, seven scavengers, three street vendors, one woman, and 107 others.

He explained that they were netted at several locations across West Jakarta, including Kalideres Terminal, the flyovers of Cengkareng, Slipi, Tomang, Grogol, and Jembatan Dua, as well as the surrounding Kota Tua area.

"Those who have been reached were taken to various social shelters according to their respective categories," he stated, Thursday (4/9).

Upon arrival at the shelters, they undergo an assessment. The results serve as an analysis to provide rehabilitation and guidance based on their individual potential and abilities, including assessments for further referral programs if necessary.

"PPKS from outside Jakarta will be repatriated to their areas of origin," he concluded.
