820 PPKS in South Jakarta Netted in Raids During 2024

Some 820 people with social and people problems (PPKS) were netted in several areas of South Jakarta from January 1 to December 31, 2024.

Cumulatively, the number of PPKS reached in 2024 decreased compared to 2023 with 1,255 people

South Jakarta Sub-agency Head, Bernard Tambunan said the 820 PPKS would get coaching from the orphanages in Jakarta. "They were taken according to their classification, including some for special children's homes," he expressed, Tuesday (1/14).

Of 820 PPKS netted, he explained, 140 were abandoned people and 136 were street singers.

Dinsos Returns PPKS to Their Areas of Origin

"Cumulatively, the number of PPKS reached in 2024 decreased compared to 2023 with 1,255 people," he explained.

Besides getting skills training, they would also receive health services and have their basic needs met.

"We don't want them to return to the streets. So, we also provide guidance to make them live independently," he stated.
