"30 vehicles failed emissions tests. The reasons ranged from modified exhausts to dirty air filters," she explained.
According to her, vehicle owners who do not pass the emissions test are directed to carry out regular maintenance at a repair shop and re-take the free emissions test service at a number of available locations.
"Through routine emission testing, the public contributes to improving air quality while increasing energy efficiency through optimal engine maintenance," she added.
Meanwhile, the Head of Operational Development Affairs of the South Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit, AKP Joko Purnomo, stated that this activity involved around 25 joint personnel to ensure the implementation ran smoothly without disrupting traffic flow.
The police are currently reviewing the idea of making emissions test results one of the administrative requirements for extending the Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK).
"We urge the public to continue using standard vehicle specifications, including exhausts. This not only supports environmental sustainability but is also crucial for road safety," he stated.
