Jakarta to Host FIA Rallycross World Cup 2026

Jakarta has once again been selected as the host for a high-profile international automotive championship. The city is scheduled to host the FIA Rallycross World Cup 2026 at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), Ancol, North Jakarta, from December 5 to 6, 2026.

Such initiatives will preserve Jakarta’s trajectory as a global city

Governor Pramono Anung, has confirmed the Jakarta government’s complete backing for the upcoming international racing event.

The event aims to enhance Jakarta's reputation as a global city and a premier world-class sport tourism destination. This was stated by Pramono during the FIA World Rallycross 2026 Press Conference at City Hall, Friday (4/17).

Governor Kicks Off Padel Tournament, Highlights Vision for Jakarta as Sport Tourism Hub

"The Jakarta government is committed to fully supporting this event. I have specifically brought along the new President Director of Ancol, who has just started his tenure today. Mr. Ian Lubis’s main responsibility is to ensure the highest level of support for the event’s implementation," he remarked.

The global race is seen as an exciting new form of entertainment for Jakartans. To help out, the city government will make promotion easier by using its own infrastructure, like digital screens across the city.

"I’ve called in the agency heads, BUMD directors, and assistants today to listen in and act on our commitment to making sure everything goes off without a hitch," he explained.

Pramono expressed his optimism regarding the substantial economic multiplier effect that the FIA Rallycross World Cup 2026 will bring to Jakarta.

He highlighted that Jakarta is currently recognized as the second safest city in Southeast Asia after Singapore. The presence of this event will further attract international visitors and bolster Jakarta’s status as a global city.

"Such initiatives will preserve Jakarta’s trajectory as a global city and ensure that it becomes a genuine new destination for sports tourism," he remarked.

The Rallycross World Cup event is a collaboration between the FIA and SARGA.CO, an Indonesian sports and entertainment ecosystem company.

Pramono expressed his hope that the partnership between the Jakarta government and SARGA will nurture talented young racers—particularly those holding Jakarta IDs—enabling them to compete on the international stage in the future.
