One of the highlights of the Famtrip was the participation of Argentine football legend and former FC Barcelona player Juan Pablo Sorín, who joined the tour to experience the city firsthand.

During the trip, Sorín and his group enjoyed Jakarta's cityscape aboard an open top tour bus.

The route took them through various parts of the city, including the modern landmark area of Bundaran HI, a bustling hub of urban activity.

They were also treated to views of the iconic National Monument (Monas), a symbol of national pride. The group further explored Jakarta's diversity and history, passing by Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta Cathedral, and the historic Kota Tua Jakarta area.

Head of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Andhika Permata, said the Famtrip aligns with the provincial government's commitment to promoting tourism through campaigns such as #EnjoyJakarta, #Jakcation, and #DIJakartaAja.

He expressed hope that the presence of international sports figures like Sorín would help position Jakarta as a global city that is culturally rich, dynamic, and ready to host world-class events.

"This moment offers a unique way to showcase Jakarta as a global city that is welcoming to international events while offering a wide range of attractions," he shared on Tuesday (4/21).

Meanwhile, Head of Marketing and Attractions at the agency, Lucky Wulandari, said the initiative is part of a targeted regional promotion strategy and a key step in strengthening Jakarta's global image.

"The presence of international sports figures is expected to generate broad exposure and convey a positive message that Jakarta offers historical appeal, cultural diversity, and well-developed urban tourism infrastructure," she stressed.

Participants, including Sorín, described the experience as memorable.

"This has been an incredible experience for me. Seeing Jakarta from an open top bus offers a very different perspective. Passing modern buildings, then witnessing the grandeur of Monas and the iconic atmosphere of Kota Tua, Jakarta is truly a vibrant, warm city full of surprises," said Sorín, a former left-back and captain of the Argentina national team at the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
