Repair of Tunda Bara Connecting Channel Embankment Completed

The repair of the Tunda Bara connecting channel's retaining wall along the Jalan Intan RSPP segment in RT 10/02, West Cilandak Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district, South Jakarta, finally completed.

Cilandak Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Yansori stated, the repair was prompted by a landslide at the embankment, following high intensity of rain that increased the water volume in the drainage.

"Our monitoring showed the damage was quite significant, raising concerns of secondary landslides if immediate action wasn't taken," he explained on Wednesday (4/22).

He detailed that the repaired retaining wall measures 12 meters long, 1.5 meters high, and 40 centimeters wide.

"Seven personnel from the Blue Squad were assigned to the task, carrying out the work manually with standard tools," he added.

He added that the work process, which lasted for more than two weeks, faced several obstacles, particularly when it rained and the water discharge increased, forcing work to be temporarily suspended.

"The work is now complete. We hope this embankment remains sturdy and durable," he added.

This repair received appreciation from one of the residents, Sobirin (51).

Luckily, it was fixed right away; if not, there could have been secondary landslides. The work is tidy and the outcome is excellent," he asserted.
