"Jakarta has begun seriously allocating funds for free private schools. Hopefully, the Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts will break the cycle of disadvantage among low-income families," he said, Sunday (4/26).

The free private school program covers elementary, middle, high school, and vocational high schools (SMA/SMK), as well as special needs schools (SLB) across five administrative areas of Jakarta. The existing 40 private schools will receive funding for 12 months, from January to December 2026.

Meanwhile, 63 private schools are new recipients of this program, which will receive funding for 6 months, from July to December 2026.

In addition to the free private school program, the Jakarta Provincial Government has also ensured that other educational assistance programs will continue, such as the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP), the Jakarta Excellent Student Card (KJMU), and the diploma amnesty program.

Through inclusive and quality access to education, Pramono hopes this policy will shape a more superior and advanced generation of young people in Jakarta.
