Council Urges Free School Programs to Prioritize Principles of Fairness and Quality

Jakarta City Council's Commission E Member, Yudha Permana appealed the implementation of the free school program in private schools is truly equal to state schools, both in terms of educational quality, facilities, and teacher welfare.

"Private schools quality participating in this program must not be lower than state schools. Teacher welfare must also be guaranteed. Teachers should not worry about late or uncertain salaries. If teachers are prosperous, they can focus on teaching and educating our children," he said, Friday (7/18).
According to him, the implementation of free private schools must uphold the principles of fairness and quality. He emphasized that this program must be truly free , with no hidden fees charged to students.

"Jakarta Provincial Government needs to improve the facility of private schools involved in the program," he added.
He stated that quality education is the right of all children in Jakarta, without exception, so that all students can get equal access to education.
