East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Tow Truck Operator Saputra Afrijal said the action was taken following up on public reports filed through the JAKI app. The location has frequently received complaints about illegal parking by vehicle owners.

"Following up on public complaints, we immediately took action against illegal parking on Jalan Laksamana Malahayati, Cipinang Melayu," he said.

Saputra explained that illegal parking at the location had been repeatedly controlled. However, vehicle owners continued to use the roadside as parking, even covering their vehicles with car covers to pretend as the garage owner.

"The road side is used as an illegal garage. Vehicles are parked every day and covered," he added.

He continued that when officers arrived at the scene, information about the operation was suspected to have already leaked. Several vehicle owners immediately moved their vehicles, resulting in only three vehicles being apprehended and towed to the impound lot in Pinang Ranti.

"The controlling involved 30 joint personnel of Transportation Sub-agency, Satpol PP, urban village, district, and supported by army and police," he stated.
