The East Jakarta Administration has urged qurban committees to prepare eco-friendly containers when distributing qurban meat to residents as part of efforts to reduce plastic waste and promote better public health ahead of Eid al-Adha.

“We urge residents, especially qurban committees, to use eco-friendly containers when distributing qurban meat to the public,” said East Jakarta Assistant for Economy and Development Fauzi on Tuesday (5/26).

“They can use rattan containers, bongsang, and other environmentally friendly packaging,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, East Jakarta Baznas (Bazis) Coordinator Eka Napisah added that the agency had distributed 120 tarpaulins to mosques across the region to help facilitate the qurban slaughtering process.
“The tarpaulins were distributed to mosques last week. Hopefully, they will help support the slaughtering, meat cutting, and packaging processes,” she said.
