Rano Karno Joins Residents for Eid al-Adha Prayer at City Hall

Jakarta Acting Governor, Rano Karno, attended the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri prayer at Jakarta City Hall plaza on Wednesday (5/27).

I am sure it will all go well

The service was led by Imam Muhammad Ali (Chairman of LPTQ Jakarta) and Preacher Kyai Muhammad Faiz (Chairman of MUI Jakarta). To facilitate parking, the Jakarta government has allocated spaces at IRTI Monas, Gambir Station, and the City Council office.

"The prayer was performed together with Jakarta people, especially those living around Kebon Sirih," said Rano.

He explained that the Jakarta government is distributing 210 cows and 10 goats to residents this year, up from last year’s total of 153 cows.

Addressing the slaughtering process, he noted that there are around 68,000 sacrificial animals across the city.

"To ensure everything goes well, we have deployed health inspectors to monitor the condition of both the livestock and the meat," he continued.

Rano assured that there will be no compromise if officers find animals that do not meet standards or are hazardous to health; such meat will be promptly disposed of.

Regarding the personnel, his party has 483 certified halal butchers ready. This gives Rano confidence that the slaughtering process and the holiday festivities across the city will be orderly.

"I truly believe our people know exactly how to handle the slaughtering, as it’s a process that requires specific knowledge. I am sure it will all go well," he added.

After performing the Eid al-Adha prayer, Rano—accompanied by several Jakarta government officials—visited Jalan Ibrahim, Gg Langgar, in Taman Sari, West Jakarta, to present a sacrificial cow to local residents.

Subsequently, Rano and his entourage traveled to Jalan Hidup Baru 3, Gg Haji Jeni, in Gandaria Utara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, to hand over additional sacrificial animals to the community.

During the visit, Rano commended the residents of Jalan Hidup Baru 3 for winning the city-level neighborhood watch competition.

He noted that the award was a result of their commitment to community safety and well-being.

Their proactive measures include specialized security training and a sophisticated integrated system equipped with CCTV, GPS trackers, panic buttons, alarms, and a command center.
