19 Kilogrammes of Unfit Sacrificial Offal Destroyed"For this inspection, we deployed 154 joint officers consisting of veterinarians, students, volunteers, as well as officers from the KPKP Agency and Sub-agency spread across 10 sub-agency," she said, Friday (5/29).
Irawati explained that the 6,803 sacrificial animals inspected were the result of monitoring at 257 slaughter areas. These included 2,012 cows, 10 buffalo, 4,276 goats, and 505 sheep.
According to him, an examination of the slaughtered sacrificial animals revealed 162,262 kilograms of organs deemed unfit for consumption. The organs discarded included the liver, spleen, lungs, and other parts found to contain abnormalities.
"Offal that is rejected, for example because it is suspected of having liver flukes or other health problems, is immediately destroyed by burying it so that it is not consumed by the public," she explained.
She hopes that the supervision carried out on TPHK can guarantee food safety for people who receive and consume sacrificial meat.
"In accordance with the provisions, we will continue to carry out supervision until the tasyrik period ends. We hope that the efforts we make can provide benefits and have a positive impact on society," she hoped.
