MSME and Urban Farming Bazaar Enlivens Jakarta's 499th Anniversary Celebration

South Jakarta Food Security, Marine and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency held an MSME and Urban Farming Bazaar at Cibis Park in Cilandak Timur Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district, as part of Jakarta's 499th anniversary celebrations.

The event runs from June 25 to 26, 2026

South Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head Ridho Sosro said the bazaar reflects the city's commitment to strengthening urban food security while supporting community economic growth through the development of assisted MSMEs.

"The event runs from June 25 to 26, 2026. In addition to the bazaar, a variety of other activities are also being held," he informed on Thursday (6/25).

Ridho said the bazaar not only showcases products from 16 assisted MSMEs and fresh harvests from 10 urban farmers but also offers various educational and creative activities for the public.

"These include a plating competition featuring dishes made with honey pumpkin, live cooking demonstrations using local ingredients, and urban farming training for residents," he added.

Through the event, Ridho hopes MSMEs will be able to expand market access, improve product quality, and gain greater confidence in developing their businesses.

Meanwhile, Roynaldo, Head of the Tourism, Food, Marine and Agriculture Subgroup at the South Jakarta Administrative City Secretariat, said the bazaar serves as both a promotional platform for assisted MSMEs and an opportunity to educate the public about food security, urban farming, and local food products.

"Collaboration between the government and the business sector is a tangible example of the Jakarta Collaboration spirit, where every stakeholder plays a role in creating opportunities that directly benefit the community," he noted.

He hopes the event will help assisted MSMEs gain wider recognition, reach more customers, and increase their income, while also strengthening collaboration among the government, businesses, communities, and residents in building a resilient and sustainable local economic ecosystem.

"I encourage all participants and visitors to make the most of this opportunity. Let us support local products, appreciate MSME-made goods, and work together to strengthen urban food security through simple steps that can begin in our own communities," he emphasized.
