Retaining Wall on Jalan Al Baido Road is Being Constructed

The Blue Troops of the Water Resources Implementation Unit of Cipayung District, East Jakarta, built a retaining wall for a water channel on Jalan Al Baido I, RT 10/09, Lubang Buaya Urban Village.

Targeted for completion by August 7

Head of the Unit, Dian Kartika said the construction of the retaining wall is carried out along approximately 100 meters with a height of 1.5 meters.

According to her, the retaining wall construction is a follow-up to a proposal from residents and officials from SMPN 272 Lubang Buaya. The area had frequently inundated during heavy rains due to the lack of retaining walls in the canal.

"The construction has been running since June 17, 2026 by deploying eight personnel. The work is targeted for completion by August 7," she said, Friday (7/10).

She added that the retaining wall construction uses crushed river stone, cement, and sand. Up to now, the work has reached approximately 25 percent progress.

"Hopefully in the future there will be no more puddles here, especially when it rains," she hoped.

Meanwhile, Head of Lubang Buaya Urban Village, Latiful Syamsi appreciated the Cipayung District Water Resource Unit for responding to the resident request.

"It is hoped that the construction of this retaining wall will be able to overcome the flooding that has often occurred," he stated.

According to him, puddles of around 40 to 60 centimeters often appear when it rains around Jalan Al Baido I because there is no proper retaining wall at the location.

"Although PPSU officers routinely clean the drains, flooding still occurs frequently. Hopefully, this retaining wall will be effective in addressing the flooding," he hoped.
