Jakarta Pledges to Build Safe, Comfortable, and Joyful Learning Environments

The first three days of the 2026/2027 'Friendly School Orientation' (MPLS Ramah) across Jakarta have been a total success—safe, orderly, and full of smiles. At SDN Srengseng Sawah 15, the energy was high as students started their journey with a blast.

We want the MPLS Ramah to be the foundation of a positive school culture

The day began with a morning workout session led by the Primary and Secondary Education Minister, Abdul Mu’ti. Joining students, teachers, and staff, the Minister helped set a fun tone for the year, promoting healthy habits while building a joyful learning atmosphere right from day one.

This MPLS in Jakarta follows the Minister's directive to prioritize student well-being. This includes promoting healthy diets, managing gadget use, and co-creating a school atmosphere that feels safe and fun. By focusing on these pillars, Jakarta is ensuring that schools are more than just places of study—they are healthy, vibrant communities for everyone involved.

Commission E Ensures MPLS Runs Smoothly

Jakarta Education Agency Head, Nahdiana, reaffirmed the city’s commitment to a MPLS Ramah that prioritizes character building and child rights. The program focuses on a zero-tolerance policy for bullying and violence, fostering an inclusive school culture through the Clean, Safe, and Comfortable School Movement.

For peace of mind, a dedicated WhatsApp hotline is now active for any complaints or reports:

• 0813-9595-320

• 0813-9595-350

Because every student deserves a school environment that is both safe and fun.

The agency encourages students, parents, and the community to speak up. This service is a direct line to report bullying or any violations, ensuring prompt action is taken to keep schools safe.

"Orientation isn’t just about showing kids where their classrooms are; it’s about kick-starting their character and making them feel secure and happy in their new environment. We want to make sure every school in Jakarta delivers on the promise of a MPLS Ramah, making it a fun and memorable start for everyone," she added.

So, she is calling for a collective effort from the school community, parents, and the public to ensure that our learning environments remain safe, clean, inclusive, and student-friendly.

"Through this collaboration, we want the MPLS Ramah to be the foundation of a positive school culture. Our aim is for every student to learn, grow, and excel in an environment that feels both safe and joyful," she concluded.
