South Jakarta Government Accelerates Stunting Reduction

The South Jakarta Government held a socialization event on the implementation of the reporting of the Implementation of the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction (PPPS) for Semester I of 2026 in the Antasari Room, local Mayor's Office.

South Jakarta Mayor, Syafrin Liputo, said the implementation of the socialization is a follow-up to the mandate of the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure that the implementation of reporting on the acceleration of stunting reduction runs according to regulations.

Arifin Calls for Stronger Commitment in Tackling Stunting

"The accuracy of the data and information we provide will be used to evaluate the performance of the PPPS convergence program in South Jakarta. This is crucial to mitigate the risk of failure to achieve the stunting reduction target set in the 2025-2030 RPJMD," he said, Wednesday (7/15).

He added that the prevalence of stunting in South Jakarta is recorded at 14.9 percent in 2026. The South Jakarta Government is targeting reducing this figure to 11.34 percent by 2030.

"To achieve this target, synergy and collaboration between all stakeholders is required," he added.

According to him, handling stunting is not only the responsibility of the Health Sub-agency or the Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control Sub-agency (PPAPP), but is a shared responsibility of all regional agencies.

"I remind all elements of the South Jakarta Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team to ensure that target data and families at risk of stunting are properly identified and established," he appealed.

Syafrin wants a sustainable mentoring scheme for target families and families at risk of stunting. This effort can be strengthened through collaboration with the business sector through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

"I hope that all levels of the South Jakarta City Government can make the best contribution to reducing the prevalence of stunting according to the set targets," he stated.

Meanwhile, Head of the South Jakarta Regional Development Planning Sub-agency, Hera Lidiawati, added that the socialization program lasted for two days.

"All reports on the implementation of the PPPS convergence action compiled by each regional apparatus will be compiled as material for the report of the Mayor of South Jakarta to the Jakarta Governor for the reporting of Semester I of 2026," she explained.
