Program Taman Sari Peduli Efektif Turunkan Stunting di 2 Kelurahan

Taman Sari Peduli Program Reduces Stunting Rates in Two Urban Villages

Taman Sari Peduli program, implemented in Taman Sari and Krukut Urban Villages, is claimed to have reduced stunting rates by around 31 percent among the targeted children in these two urban villages.

"Taman Sari Peduli program provides supplementary food to toddlers who are stunted,"

Taman Sari Sub-district Head, Tumpal Hasiholan A. Matondang, stated that the Taman Sari Peduli program was initiated by local civil servants to support accelerated stunting reduction efforts.

Launched in August 2025, the program began implementation in mid-September in Taman Sari and Krukut Urban Villages. By early October, data showed that five out of 16 targeted toddlers were no longer classified as stunted.

"Taman Sari Peduli program provides supplementary food to toddlers who are stunted or under the red line. We also involve private CSR in the activities," he mentioned, Monday (10/13).

According to Tumpal, the program is being rolled out gradually to all eight urban villages in the area. Currently, it is running in two urban villages, Maphar and Pinangsia, with a total of eight children targeted.

Technically, the program provides supplementary food to children suspected of stunting for two weeks.

Toddlers who have not reached the normal growth will receive further treatment and assistance from their families and local health centers (Puskesmas).

In addition to providing supplementary food, the program also encourages toddlers to take part in fun swimming activities.

"We hope swimming activities will create joy and positively impact in the children's physical growth and development," he emphasized.

Rina Triana, a resident of RT 03/06 Pinangsia, shared that even after just a week in the program, she had already seen improvements in her child’s health, who was previously considered severely underweight.

She mentioned that her four-year-old was classified as underweight, weighing just 11 kilograms compared to the ideal 15 kilograms.

"After a week in the program, my child's weight increased to 13 kilograms. I hope my child continues to get healthier and is no longer underweight," she said.
