Following a bridge-collapsing accident involving a heavy-duty truck, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung assured the public that the Tendean pedestrian bridge will be reconstructed.
That is our top priority
Pramono noted that the bridge wreckage has been successfully cleared, allowing traffic flow in the area to return to normal.
"I am following every development. If the Bina Marga Agency says it won't be built immediately, it’s because the budget isn't in place yet, but we are keeping a close eye on it," he added.
Tendean Pedestrian Bridge Construction to Be Reviewed SoonNevertheless, he emphasized that his team will actively seek funding sources to ensure the bridge's reconstruction is realized promptly.
These funds could be sourced from the Revised City Budget (APBD-P), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, Building Floor Coefficient (KLB) funds, or through collaborations with strategic partners.
"Given that this is a high-traffic and strategic area, restoring the bridge is essential to address the situation in the field. That is our top priority," he asserted.
He blamed the bridge’s destruction on the truck driver’s failure to adhere to height restrictions. While legal actions are being handed over to the authorities, he remains focused on the solution.
"The legal process, including potential prosecution, is in the hands of the related agencies and law enforcement. But above all, we want to fast-track the reconstruction because this bridge serves a strategic purpose for the city," he emphasized.
