Over 9,500 Potholes Repaired throughout Central Jakarta

The Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency recorded 9,512 potholes across eight sub-districts between January and the third week of July 2026.

These repairs are a direct response to resident reports

Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Head, M. Sholeh announced that the total area of repaired roads has reached a significant 26,154 square meters.

"These repairs are a direct response to resident reports filed via JAKI app and social media, as well as field monitoring by our personnel across eight sub-districts," he expressed, Tuesday (7/21).

Central Jakarta Tackles 6,776 Potholes from January to April

The repairs involved diverse methods: 134 spots (5,446 sqm) were fixed using quick-patch coldmix and hotmix asphalt, while nine locations (33 sqm) were reinforced with concrete, and 16 others (1,421 sqm) underwent scraping.

He added that the repairs spanned everything from neighborhood lanes to major arterial, collector, and local roads.

"The damage is driven by several factors, including the age of the roads, intense rainfall, standing water, and the heavy burden of high-tonnage vehicles," he explained.

So, he hoped that these repairs would boost infrastructure standards and provide a safer, smoother, and more convenient commute for Central Jakarta people.
