Pelita Program Targets 55 Children and Pregnant Women in Rawa Badak Utara

Rawa Badak Utara Urban Village, Koja District, North Jakarta, in collaboration with PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (Pelindo), launched the Pelita Program (Pelindo Environment Without Stunting Children) in 2026 at the local Urban Village Office.

Increasing public awareness

This program is a form of collaboration in supporting national priority programs, particularly accelerating the reduction of stunting rates.

Central Jakarta is Committed to Reducing Stunting

Head of Rawa Badak Utara, Ester Laura Kartini said the program has provided real benefits to the community and last year the program's success rate reached 100 percent.

"This program has a strategic role in increasing public awareness of the importance of fulfilling children's nutritional needs from an early age," she said, Wednesday (7/29).

Ester explained this year's Pelita Program targets 55 beneficiaries consisting of 30 stunted children and 25 pregnant women.

"Parents play a crucial role in the golden period of growth for children under the age of five. Through this education, we hope parents can ensure their children's nutritional needs are met by using affordable, yet high-quality food," she explained.

The beneficiaries will receive additional food (PMT), milk, vitamins, and regular support from health workers and urban village cadres.

Senior Manager Corporate Secretary PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok, Fiona Sari Utami explained the Pelita Program is a corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) initiative that has been running for the past three years.

"This year, we are continuing the Pelita Program with a broader reach. This program not only targets children but also pregnant women as a preventative measure from the time of conception," she explained.

Fiona hopes that this collaboration can continue and reach more families to support the achievement of the zero stunting target in the surrounding area.

Meanwhile, one of the pregnant women, Yuyun Nuraini (32) admitted the program helps her much.

Besides getting help, she also gained new knowledge about proper eating patterns during pregnancy.

"Now I'm more aware of healthy eating patterns for my fetus. Hopefully, I can give birth to a healthy child who will grow and develop well, and this program will continue to help other mothers," she admitted.
