Fire gutted 14 houses on Jalan Tanah Abang Lima, Gang IV, RT 002/02, Petojo Selatan Urban Village, Gambir Sub-District, Central Jakarta, Friday (5/2), around 12.05 AM. The incident was allegedly triggered by electricity short-circuit from a house owned by Burhan.

Fire came from Mr. Burhan’s house. It grew up quickly

The locals had tried to put out the flames with available tools, but they failed. As a result, fire quickly grew up and the house owners could not save their valuables from their houses.

“ Fire came from Mr. Burhan’s house. It grew up quickly ,” said Chief of RT 02, Anton, whose house also burned.

At around 1 AM, the firemen managed to extinguish the fire after 22 fire trucks deployed to the scene.

“There is no casualty reported in the incident, but the loss is predicted reaching Rp 600 million,” stated Head of Central Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Sudarno, Friday (5/2).
