Mobile Animal Clinic Reaches 226 Animals in South Jakarta

The South Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP) recorded that the Jakarta Mobile Animal Clinic (KHKJ) has successfully treated 226 animals, ranging from cats to sheep.

Livestock and Animal Health Section Head, Irawati Harry Artharini stated the mobile clinic is designed to bring veterinary services directly to the residents' doorsteps, ensuring easier access to professional care.

"Our services include basic veterinary examinations, infectious disease prevention, ultrasonography (USG), blood tests, and various other diagnostic procedures," she expressed, Wednesday (8/5).

Providing a detailed breakdown, she noted that the 226 animals treated included 198 cats, 23 dogs, one sheep, two rabbits, and two exotic animals.

While the agency aims to reach every urban village in South Jakarta, the mobile unit occasionally faces accessibility challenges.

"Because not all locations have adequate road access for the Jakarta Mobile Animal Clinic, pet owners are encouraged to choose the service point nearest to their homes," she explained.

She went on to say that the overwhelming public response has prompted the KPKP Sub-agency to strategically map out service demands for the mobile clinic.

In the future, areas showing high levels of interest will be earmarked for an extended two-day service period.

"Currently, the urban villages in South Jakarta with the strongest demand for the mobile animal clinic are Menteng Dalam and Guntur," she continued.

Irawati emphasized that the on-site nature of this service makes it much more convenient for pet owners to seek professional help without the hassle of traveling far.

With easier access, any health concerns can be addressed immediately through rapid intervention. This ensures that pets remain in peak condition and that potential diseases are managed early.
