Jakarta`s Economy Grows 5.52 Percent in Second Quarter

Statistics Center Agency (BPS) of Jakarta recorded that Jakarta's economy grew by 5.52 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) in the second quarter of 2026.

Dominated by wholesale and retail trade

Head of the Agency, Kadarma said compared to the first quarter of 2026, Jakarta's economy experienced growth of approximately 1.52 percent.

Jakarta's economy in the second quarter of 2026 recorded a Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Rp 1,058.02 trillion at current prices and Rp 594.22 trillion at 2010 constant prices.

"Jakarta's economy grew by 5.52 percent, driven by the highest growth in the accommodation and food and beverage sector at 9.52 percent," he said.

Compared to the previous quarter, Kadarmanto continued, the economy grew by 1.52 percent, with the highest growth seen in the electricity and gas supply sector at approximately 13.39 percent, and in government final consumption expenditure at 7.23 percent.

"The economic structure in the second quarter of 2026 remained dominated by wholesale and retail trade and the repair of car and motorcycles by 18.24 percent, while the expenditure side was dominated by household consumption at approximately 63.24 percent," he explained.
