Jakarta's inflation hit 0.41% in June 2026 on a month-on-month (m-to-m) basis, according to data from Statistics Jakarta (BPS). This brings the city's year-to-date (YTD) inflation figure to 1.65%.

Jakarta BPS Head, Kadarmanto revealed that the 0.41% inflation rate was primarily driven by a 2.54% spike in the transportation price index, which contributed 0.34% to the total figure.
"Jakarta’s inflation in June 2026 was dominated by rising costs within the transportation sector," he expressed, Thursday (7/2).

"Fuel costs accounted for a significant 0.29% of the inflationary share," he explained.
Other factors pushing inflation higher included airfare (0.05%), mobile phones (0.02%), and price hikes in carrots and chili (0.01%).
"Fortunately, some staples provided a deflationary cushion, helping to temper the overall inflation rate. Broiler chicken led this trend with a 0.03% contribution, followed by eggs, bird’s eye chili, papaya, and mackerel at roughly 0.01% each," Kadarmanto noted.
