6,485 Trees in Central Jakarta Pruned

The Central Jakarta Parks and City Forests Sub-agency recorded that 6,485 hazardous trees across eight sub-districts were pruned between January and the first week of August 2026.

This is also to provide a sense of safety and comfort for the residents

The Central Jakarta Parks and City Forests Sub-agency Head, Mila Anandastated that the tree pruning is a follow-up to resident concerns and field monitoring conducted by the personnel in eight sub-districts.

Of 6,485 trees, she explained, 915 underwent light pruning, 3,873 medium pruning, 1,440 heavy pruning, and 257 trees were cut down.

"We also handled 68 instances of broken branches and 63 fallen trees during the period from January to the first week of August 2026," she explained.

She added that the pruning is done to anticipate fallen trees during heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds.

"This is also to provide a sense of safety and comfort for the residents of Central Jakarta," she concluded.
