JAFEX 2026: Pramono Seeks to Unlock Jakarta's Asset Potential

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is seeking to optimize the use of regional assets to help drive the city's economy, a goal he outlined while opening the Jakarta Asset Forum & Expo (JAFEX) 2026 at The St. Regis Jakarta in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (8/11).

As a global city, the Jakarta Provincial Government wants to maximize the use of its assets

"The Jakarta Provincial Government is holding the first JAFEX Forum, and this will become a tradition because, as a global city, the Jakarta Provincial Government wants to maximize the use of its assets," Pramono said.

Central Jakarta Urges Developer to Certify Public Facility Assets

Pramono wants regional assets to be utilized more effectively to provide tangible benefits for the public, create economic value and business opportunities for residents, and generate long-term value for Jakarta's future.

Pramono also said the Jakarta Provincial Government had stepped up efforts to organize and certify its assets. In 2026, Jakarta set a new MURI record by issuing 4,482 land certificates covering 667 hectares, with a total value of Rp126.9 trillion.

The Governor added that the Jakarta Provincial Government had made various improvements as part of its transformation into a global city. To support this effort, the administration is exploring funding sources beyond the city budget.

The Jakarta Provincial Government has developed creative financing as an alternative source of funding outside the city budget for various public projects. Pramono said development projects are currently being financed using funds generated from floor area ratio (KLB) incentives, along with plans to issue municipal bonds.

"And that is what we are using to develop Jakarta at the moment," he emphasized.

Pramono hopes JAFEX 2026 will create new opportunities for Jakarta to innovate in development and foster collaboration.

Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) welcomed JAFEX 2026 as a forum that brings together the government, investors, businesses, and development partners.

"If we can bring all these strengths together, create synergies and collaborate, we will have a great opportunity to turn public assets into something that truly benefits our communities," AHY said.

According to AHY, a shift in mindset is needed from simply managing assets to creating greater value from them. He also stressed that asset utilization must align with development plans.

He added that partnerships must be carried out transparently and accountably, while development projects must deliver public benefits.

"The central and local governments must work closely together, from the planning stage through implementation," he said.

AHY also hopes the forum will help identify assets, develop projects, build partnerships, and turn them into concrete projects.

"In other words, through this forum, let's move from discussion to concrete action," he stressed.

Through the forum, the Jakarta Provincial Government aims to connect the potential of Jakarta's assets with investment ideas, technology, expertise, and networks from businesses and strategic partners.

A total of 41 potential assets from 13 Jakarta Provincial Government agencies are being offered through the forum, with planned investments totaling approximately Rp13.1 trillion.
