Optimizing Assets to Boost Investment and Public Welfare

Jakarta Legislative Council Vice Chairman, Wibi Andrino is calling on the Jakarta government to maximize regional asset utilization as a means to drive investment and community well-being.

It is vital that all available resources are used efficiently

Wibi highlighted that while Jakarta's assets are valued at around Rp 750 trillion, many do not yield direct economic returns because they serve as public infrastructure, including roads, channels, and urban parks.

According to him, a mixed-use development concept needs to be implemented to ensure that the Jakarta government's assets provide added value. One key approach is through collaboration with private sectors and investors.

Council Pushes for Public-Private Synergy to Leverage Jakarta’s Assets at JAFEX 2026

"As we look toward the future of Jakarta, it is vital that all available resources are used efficiently. We must explore mixed-use strategies—for example, determining how our public parks can contribute to the city’s economic growth," he remarked, during the 2026 Jakarta Asset Forum & Expo (JAFEX), Wednesday (8/12).

At 2026 JAFEX, the Jakarta government showcased 41 prime assets from 13 regional working units (SKPD), representing an investment pipeline of roughly Rp 13.1 trillion. He stated, the economic velocity generated by these investments is projected to be between Rp 200 billion and Rp 300 billion.

He further clarified that these figures do not account for additional revenue streams such as naming rights, advertising, and other monetization schemes. Consequently, he believes that expanding asset optimization is essential to maximize Jakarta's economic gains.

On a separate note, Wibi encouraged all asset-holding technical agencies to bolster their protection and management protocols. According to him, the Jakarta government must provide sufficient fiscal backing to allow these agencies to perform thorough audits and maintain the integrity of the assets under their care.

He emphasized that partnerships with the private sector for asset utilization must be backed by regulations that ensure mutual benefits.

The Jakarta government, he continued, requires investment to stimulate economic growth and public well-being, while investors demand long-term certainty for their capital commitments.

"We're co-drafting these regulations to create a win-win scenario. We need investments that drive economic momentum for the benefit of the community, ensuring that this economic turnover serves the ultimate goal of maximizing public prosperity," he concluded.
