Don’t Miss Out! Jakarta Beat Society 2026 Kicks Off August 22!

Get ready for the rhythm! The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) is officially backing the 3rd Jakarta Beat Society (JBS), set to ignite M Bloc Space in Kebayoran Baru on August 22-23, 2026.

Jakarta government continues to unlock the potential of creative sub-sectors, including music

Jakarta’s Creative Economy Division Head, Puji Hastuti stated that JBS 2026 is designed as an international music showcase and festival. Beyond the performances, the event serves as a strategic bridge, connecting Indonesian music industry players with prestigious global networks.

According to her, music plays a pivotal role in driving the economy, promoting cultural heritage, and generating new employment opportunities across the entire value chain—from production to consumption.

M Bloc Space, the Heart of Jakarta's Youth Creativity

"Through creative finance schemes, the Jakarta government continues to unlock the potential of creative sub-sectors, including music. The presence of international guests, delegates, and buyers at JBS won't only bolster the creative economy but also significantly boost tourist arrivals to Jakarta," she remarked, Wednesday (8/19).

She highlighted that JBS has all the ingredients to become a flagship annual staple for the city. By maintaining this momentum, the festival reinforces Jakarta’s reputation as a thriving hub for global music and creativity.

"Hope the event will continue to receive support every year, ultimately becoming a highly anticipated fixture for both residents and tourists alike," she concluded.

Hastuti pointed out that JBS is the perfect springboard for collaborations leading up to 2027, particularly for the historic series of events celebrating Jakarta’s five centuries.

"We welcome any organization or community that wants to be part of Jakarta’s 500-year milestone celebrations with open arms. To all our partners, thank you for your incredible collaboration and for taking the initiative to host the JBS here in the heart of the city," she added.

Visionary Founder and Director of Jakarta Beat Society, Franki Raden describes JBS as a trailblazer in the Asian music scene, seamlessly blending the intimacy of a music showcase with the high energy of a festival.

Now in its third edition, the event is scaling up like never before. It is diversifying its genres and professional network, creating a global hub for industry experts.

"JBS is set to be the most memorable showcase and festival in Asia. We're uniting local music industry stakeholders from across the Indonesian archipelago while bringing in leading music media outlets from Australia, Europe, and North America," he added.

Over the course of two action-packed days, attendees can immerse themselves in five key programs: main stage acts, intimate showcases, an insightful music conference, strategic business networking, and a vibrant craft fair.

Expect nothing less than brilliance on the JBS main stage, with a lineup featuring local legends and rising stars like Iwa K, Bottlesmoker, Batavia Collective, and Indonesian National Orchestra. The stage will also vibrate with the sounds of Satya Cipta, Jordy Waelauruw, the traditional rhythms of Jegog SuarAgung from Bali, Cecil Yang, Major 9, and Noizekilla.

"More than just a festival, JBS is a networking powerhouse. We are facilitating direct face-to-face meetings between 40 national and international bands and world-class delegates from global cities like New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, and Seoul," Raden added.

According to Franki, having these global experts in attendance is key to opening doors for local talent to shine on the world stage.

He is calling on locals and travelers alike to make the most of JBS 2026, soak in the incredible music, and discover the creative energy of the M Bloc district.

"M Bloc Space is Jakarta’s go-to destination for live music—it’s the pulse of the city’s creative scene, surrounded by cool cafes, galleries, and great food. Make sure to clear your schedule and join us at the Jakarta Beat Society!," he added.
