Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has detailed the massive aid shipment heading to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) this Friday afternoon. The relief includes food, emergency shelter (tarps and tents), and medicine to address the immediate needs of earthquake victims.
Key contributions include:
• Logistics & Cash: Over Rp 2 billion from BPBD, Social Services, Health Services, and Baznas Bazis.
• Water Infrastructure: 202 water tanks and a Mobile Water Treatment Plant worth Rp 2.5 billion from PAM Jaya.
• Collective Donations: Rp 1.11 billion in cash from Jakarta’s BUMDs and government agencies.
According to Marulitua Sijabat, Head of BPBD, the total humanitarian package is valued at approximately Rp 5.85 billion, aimed at providing holistic support for the disaster-hit region.
Beyond logistics, Jakarta is providing Rp 1.11 billion in cash donations from various city agencies and BUMDs.
"The total value of the aid being dispatched this afternoon is Rp 5,853,728,500," he stated.
The entire shipment will be distributed via air and sea under the coordination of the National Disaster Mitigation Authority (BNPB).
BNPB’s Deputy for Logistics and Equipment, Andi Eviana expressed high appreciation for the Jakarta government’s swift humanitarian response.
Eviana reported that the 7.7-magnitude earthquake has devastated seven regencies, resulting in 72 fatalities and displacing 40,000 residents.
"The assistance provided by the Governor is extraordinary. At Rp 5.8 billion, Jakarta is the first province to send aid, followed by Central Java and subsequently West Java," she closed.
