New LRT Jakarta Route Set for Official Launch on August 26

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced that the LRT Jakarta route connecting Kelapa Gading and Manggarai is scheduled for an official inauguration on August 26. The ceremony is expected to be presided over by President Prabowo Subianto.

"We hope that on August 26, President Prabowo will officially inaugurate the line," Pramono stated, during a visit to the HKBP Menteng Church, Central Jakarta, Saturday (8/22).

With a projected capacity of 80,000 passengers per day, the new LRT line is a major milestone for the city. He confirmed that after the launch, the focus will shift to extending the line to Dukuh Atas.

This area is being transformed with a pedestrian deck designed to create a multi-modal integration hub for the MRT, LRT, airport rail, train, and Transjakarta.

He believes that this infrastructure will not only simplify mobility but also modernize the city’s transit system.

"This is the core backbone of our transportation network—it is what will truly change the face of Jakarta," he stated.
