Strategic Partnership, Pramono Offers Jakarta’s Best Practices to Advance Jambi City

The Jakarta government has forged a strategic partnership with the Jambi City Government across multiple sectors, focusing on Information Communication Technology (ICT) development, urban planning, and creative financing schemes.

I personally invited the Mayor to explore and learn from the Jaki platform

It was announced by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and Jambi Mayor Maulana following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Jakarta City Hall Pendopo, Monday (8/31).

"Specifically, we have offered the Jambi Government further collaboration beyond our initial agreement, which will be followed up by a partnership between PT Siginjai Sakti and PT Jakarta Infrastruktur Propertindo," he expressed.

He emphasized that Jakarta is highly open to sharing its expertise in accelerating urban development, including its public complaint management system through the Jaki super app.

"During our bilateral meeting, I personally invited the Mayor to explore and learn from the Jaki platform should Jambi City wish to adopt similar innovations," he continued.

In a bid to foster regional growth, the Jakarta government is opening doors for its key enterprises—such as PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, Dharma Jaya, and Pembangunan Sarana Jaya—to partner with Jambi.

"We're eager to collaborate because we see Jambi's immense growth potential," Pramono noted.

Pram also emphasized the power of creative financing in speeding up city projects. He envisions Jakarta’s off-budget funding models as a blueprint for other provinces and cities.

"I believe this is a game-changer for local governments, providing them with the room they need to build their regions. If Jakarta can prove that creative financing works, it should serve as a practical role model for the rest of Indonesia," he added.

Jambi Mayor Maulana expressed his appreciation for the Jakarta government’s support in Jambi’s development. He noted, under Pramono’s leadership, Jakarta has seen rapid progress by effectively utilizing creative financing schemes.

"We have observed significant advancements in Jakarta under his guidance, particularly in the realm of creative financing—securing project funding without relying on the city budget (APBD)," he explained.

He is keen to adopt Jakarta’s best practices in managing BUMDs to unlock local revenue potential. He specifically highlighted a desire to cooperate with PAM Jaya to improve clean water services in Jambi.

"This synergy marks a major milestone. As a thriving provincial capital, it is essential for us to learn from his expertise and the success stories of Jakarta," he noted.

He is confident that this multi-sectoral collaboration between regional governments will yield significant benefits for Jambi City’s growth.

"The benefits are truly extraordinary. We seek your continued support and guidance, Governor. We'll proceed to formalize cooperation agreements (PKS) in all other sectors as you have recommended," he concluded.
