Residents Urged to Cooperate with Economic Census Data Collection

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung received Statistics Indonesia (BPS) officers conducting field data collection for the 2026 Economic Census at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (8/31).

During the data collection, Pramono said he had answered a series of questions from BPS officers. He urged residents and business owners to cooperate with census officers and provide accurate information.

"I also urge Jakarta residents to help BPS carry out its census duties, especially those who are still reluctant to provide information," Pramono said.

Pramono stressed that public participation in the census is mandated by the Constitution and is not related to taxation. The Economic Census is being conducted to provide a picture of economic conditions in Jakarta.

"The officer who came to me directly asked the questions, as the information provided is kept confidential," he added.

BPS Secretary General Zulkipli welcomed the Jakarta Governor's support for the Economic Census data collection. He also urged residents to assist BPS officers during the process.

"We call on Jakarta residents to continue supporting BPS in conducting the 2026 Economic Census," Zulkipli said.

The Economic Census data collection will continue until mid-September. He urged residents and business owners who have not yet been surveyed to contact their local BPS office before the data collection period ends.

"Those who have not yet been surveyed can contact their local BPS office. We still have time, as data collection will continue until mid-September," he noted.
