"Another commodity contributing to inflation is engine lubricant, at approximately 0.02 percent," he added.
Other commodities contributing to deflation and exerting downward pressure on the inflation rate in August 2026 included air transport (0.05 percent), gasoline and shallots (0.04 percent), followed by tomatoes and oranges (0.01 percent).
"Tomatoes have contributed to curbing inflation due to bumper harvests in several producing regions, such as West Java, East Java, and others," he stated.
