Halim Perdanakusuma Urban Village Head Nurlaela said the drainage channel was filled with sediment measuring 20 to 80 centimeters thick. The buildup was obstructing water flow and potentially disrupting the drainage system.

She said sediment was dredged along a 100-meter stretch of the channel to restore its capacity and improve water flow.
"The channel had accumulated a significant amount of sediment, which was seriously affecting the drainage system. That's why we are dredging and removing the sediment from the channel," she explained.
Nurlaela noted the dredged sediment is being put to use as fill material for vacant land on Jalan Protokol Halim, RW 09, Halim Perdanakusuma Urban Village.
"We are taking the sediment to vacant land that needs to be filled. PPSU operational vehicles are being used to transport it," she said.
