24 Pedestrian Bridges in Central Jakarta Successfully Repaired

From January through late August 2026, the Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency repaired 24 damaged pedestrian bridges across eight sub-districts.

The scope of work included welding and painting bridge railings

Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Head, M. Soleh, stated that the repairs were undertaken in response to public concerns voiced through rapid-response grievance channels, as well as findings from routine field inspections.

He noted that the repairs work involved the yellow squad personnel —the agency’s dedicated maintenance personnel stationed at both the municipal level and across eight sub-district operational units.

"The scope of work included welding and painting bridge railings, casting the bridge decks, and reinforcing the primary support structures," Soleh explained, Wednesday (9/2).

He hoped that the restoration of these bridges would provide residents with a greater sense of safety and convenience while commuting.

"Besides safety, these repairs also enhance the aesthetic appeal of the areas surrounding the bridges," he concluded.
