East Jakarta Inclusive Job Fair Prioritizes People with Disabilities

The 2026 East Jakarta Inclusive Job Fair, held in the Hall of the Block C Building at the East Jakarta Mayor's Office, provides opportunities for people with disabilities to secure employment.

Head of the Economic Affairs Division at the East Jakarta City Secretariat, Erind Chrisnina Prasetyo, stated that 12 private companies, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), and city-owned enterprises (BUMD) are offering approximately 2,000 job vacancies.

According to her, this job fair specifically provides opportunities for the public to secure employment abroad.

"There are four companies offering domestic job vacancies specifically for people with disabilities," she stated, Wednesday (9/2).

She added that an increase in available job opportunities will have a positive impact on the economy while also helping to reduce the unemployment rate in East Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Sub-agency, Sunjaya said 84 job vacancies have been specifically designated for people with disabilities across four companies, specifically for administrative, cleaning, and IT roles.

"State-owned and regionally-owned enterprises are required to employ persons with disabilities comprising at least two percent of their workforce, whereas private companies are required to employ at least one percent," he said.

He hopes that the job fair will help job seekers secure employment while also benefiting the local economy in East Jakarta.

Erind advised those interested in working abroad to exercise greater caution and not readily trust parties that promise employment while asking for money.

"If such a case arises, it can be reported to the Sub-agency or Agency for Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy, or to the Ministry of Manpower," he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Nurman (40) and Desy (39), a married couple with physical disabilities from Rawamangun, hope to secure employment through the job fair.

"We hope to get a job that is suitable for our physical condition. We are also ready to work as office cleaners," she admitted.
