Neighborhood Road Repairs on Harapan Island Reach Completion

Neighborhood road repairs in RT 02 and 05/RW 01, Harapan Island, North Seribu Islands, finally completed.

It aims to create a sense of safety and convenience

Harapan Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Nuralimstated that the repairs are a direct follow-up to resident reports regarding damaged and potholed road conditions.

"It aims to create a sense of safety and convenience for every resident and visitor using these roads," he expressed, Thursday (9/3).

He explained that the damage was likely due to the age of the paving blocks, which had deteriorated after years of use. Some blocks had shifted and crumbled, compromising the comfort of commuters.

"Many of the paving blocks were displaced and broken, so we dismantled them to be relaid and replaced with new materials to ensure a sturdier foundation," he explained.

According to him, the repairs targeted two specific spots, each covering an area of approximately 50 square meters. The one-day project involved at least 40 personnel, divided into two teams to expedite the process.

"The work, which lasted from morning until evening yesterday, is now 100 percent complete. Residents can now use the road with ease and comfort," he explained.

He urged residents to help maintain the newly improved public facilities. Additionally, they are also encouraged to promptly report any further damage in other areas so that swift action can be taken.

"Let us look after our neighborhood together. We'll continue to monitor other roads that require immediate attention to ensure that safety standards are consistently maintained," he concluded.

The repairs received appreciation from RW 01 Chair, Harapan Island Urban Village, Ratnasari.

He mentioned that the road is one of the primary access routes for residents traveling to Kelapa Island, making its repairs a top priority.

"The road is now in excellent condition and properly restored. Residents can now travel through with greater comfort and safety," he concluded.
