Jakarta Provincial Government Anticipates the Impact of Volcanic Ash from Mount Anak Krakatau"Since yesterday, I have been urging the Satpol PP ranks to directly distribute masks to passersby," he said, Monday (9/7).
Nanto explained that the mask distribution campaign carried out by residents and communities at several locations yesterday was carried out as part of efforts to protect public health following the detection of volcanic ash distribution in the Jakarta area.
"The public responded positively to the distribution of free masks. No one refused the masks," he explained.
He stated that if masks are distributed to the general public, both within the community and to road users, coordination with government agencies is essential. This will prevent disruptions such as traffic jams and other public order issues.
Nanto appealed to the public to follow government directives regarding outdoor activities, namely the use of masks and so on, which are certainly useful for protecting health from exposure to ash or dust.
