Eight Control Tanks on Panggang Island Dredged

The Blue Troop personnel of the Seribu Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency completed dredging eight control tanks in the residential area of RT 03/02, Panggang Island Urban Village, Seribu Utara Islands District.

Head of the Clean Water and Waste Section of the Sub-agency, Heriyanto, said that the dredging was carried out as a follow-up to complaints from residents who complained about blockages in the control tank due to piles of garbage and mud deposits.

Eight control tanks measuring 40x40 centimeters were dredged. Prior to dredging, the mud in the control tanks was approximately 30 centimeters thick.
"Seven personnel were deployed. Ten sacks containing mud and trash were successfully removed. We hope the water will flow smoothly again and there will be no more blockages, especially during rain," he added.
Heriyanto appealed to local residents to help maintain environmental cleanliness by not throwing rubbish into water channels.
Meanwhile, one of the local residents, Zainudin (46), appreciated the activity run by the sub-agency.
"Now the control tank is clean and the water flow is back to normal. Hopefully, in the future, residents will become more aware of not throwing trash into the drains," he hoped.
