The Jakarta Provincial Government is considering a proposal to adjust the admission fee for Ragunan Zoo to Rp10,000.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said a decision on the proposal would be made soon. He noted that Ragunan Zoo has one of the lowest admission fees among zoos in capital cities worldwide.

He said the request to adjust the admission fee came not only from Ragunan Zoo management but also from the public. The proposed adjustment is being considered in view of the high cost of maintaining the zoo's animals and plants.
At the same time, visitor numbers at Ragunan Zoo have increased, particularly since nighttime visits were implemented.
"They are asking for an adjustment because the current fee is too low, while the cost of maintaining the animals, fauna, flora, and everything else is also quite high," Pramono explained.
